Games - Dreamcast - Soul Calibur

Soul Calibur

The demonic blade is reawakening and warriors chosen by destiny and history seek after it for their own reasons. Some believe it is the sword of salvation, some called it the ultimate weapon. Thus starts the next chapter of the history...

This game is Soul Edge revisited, one my most favorite 3D fightemups of all time. The graphics in this game are made for its unique weapons based fighting system. It has its usual surrounding story that brings together characters from different eras of history. It has tremendous variety and i especially liked its phenomenal soundtrack.

This game has ten characters, all with full 8-direction movement and control. True to form they are all searching for the sword but for different reasons. Some search it to become invincible and other to destroy it as they know the sword is evil. There is Sophitia, who worships, as all good Greeks should, Hepheastos, son of Hera, and knows the Soul Edge to be evil. Then there is Seung Mina, who left home in search of the Soul Edge, which she thinks to be a savior sword. Most interesting of all, though, would be Seigfried, who becomes possessed of the Soul Edge, and transforms into the Evil Seed. And there are other weird and wonderful characters who all have their own reaons to hold the sword.

This game is made by Namco, and they have a reputation that is unsurpased. You know when they release a game it will be up there with the best. Namco have indeed delivered perfection here. It features an incredible 60 frames per second animation, thats better frame rate than your tv! It also features an all new game modes not included in the original arcade game.

If you've got a Dreamcast then your compliment of games will not be complete without Soul Calibur. This game with Sonic and NFL 2K are probbaly the best Dreamcast games out there.
